2. Interpreter Selection: Based on your requirements, we select interpreters with relevant subject-matter expertise and language combinations. For high-profile events, we can arrange interpreter interviews or provide CVs for your review.

3. Pre-Event Preparation: Our interpreters receive your materials (agendas, presentations, glossaries, speaker bios) in advance. They research the subject matter, compile terminology lists, and coordinate with our project manager on logistics.

4. Equipment Setup & Testing: Our technicians arrive early to install booths, test audio channels, distribute receivers, and conduct sound checks. We coordinate directly with your venue's AV team to ensure seamless integration.

5. Live Interpretation: During your event, our interpreters deliver clear, accurate interpretation while our technicians monitor audio quality. A project manager is on-site to handle any adjustments or last-minute changes.

6. Post-Event Support: After the event, we collect equipment, provide a summary report if requested, and gather your feedback. For recurring events, we maintain interpreter and terminology continuity to improve efficiency over time.

What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?
Simultaneous interpretation happens in real time — the interpreter listens and translates at the same time through audio equipment. Consecutive interpretation involves the interpreter waiting for the speaker to pause, then delivering the translation. Simultaneous is best for large events; consecutive is suited to smaller meetings and legal settings.

How many interpreters do I need?
For simultaneous interpretation, we deploy interpreters in pairs for each language combination. They alternate every 20-30 minutes to maintain accuracy and concentration. For consecutive interpretation, one interpreter per language is typically sufficient for sessions up to 2 hours.

Do you provide the equipment?
Yes. SWLT owns a complete fleet of professional simultaneous interpretation equipment including soundproof booths, infrared transmitters, receivers, microphones, and audio mixing consoles. We set up, test, and monitor all equipment on-site.

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least one week in advance for standard events. For large conferences requiring multiple language pairs or rare language combinations, two to four weeks notice is ideal. However, we can accommodate urgent requests within 24-48 hours depending on availability.

Can interpreters handle technical subjects?
Yes. We specifically match interpreters to events based on their subject-matter expertise. Our roster includes interpreters with backgrounds in law, medicine, engineering, finance, oil and gas, IT, and many other fields.

What areas do you cover?
We provide interpreting services across all seven emirates of the UAE. Our equipment and interpreters can be deployed to any venue in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.

Is there a minimum booking duration?
The minimum booking for simultaneous interpretation (with equipment) is a half-day (4 hours). Consecutive interpretation can be booked by the hour with a 2-hour minimum.
