Curriculum

What You'll Actually Be Able to Do

Every module is built around real redacted documents from UAE hospitals, pharma, and trial sponsors — not textbook exercises.

1

Medical Terminology That Doesn't Kill People

Anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, diagnostics — learn the terms that must never be approximated. Covers Latin roots, Arabic medical register, and UAE clinical conventions.

2

MOH, DHA & HAAD Document Standards

Translate medical reports, sick leaves, vaccination records, consent forms, and insurance claims in the exact format each UAE health authority accepts.

3

Patient Records, Labs & Prescriptions

Handle multi-page discharge summaries, lab panels, imaging reports, and prescriptions — without introducing dangerous errors in dosages or drug names.

4

Pharma & Clinical Trial Documentation

Informed consent forms, investigator brochures, SmPCs, patient information leaflets, and protocol amendments — the highest-paying niche in medical translation.

5

Medical Device IFUs & Regulatory

Translate Instructions For Use, declarations of conformity, and MOH device registration dossiers. Understand what regulators actually read vs. rubber-stamp.

6

Patient Confidentiality & HIPAA-Style Ethics

UAE data protection law for health information, how to handle identifiable data, and when to refuse a job. Ethics is a professional differentiator, not a formality.

"A decimal point wrong on a dosage isn't an error — it's harm. Medical translators who understand that earn respect and premium rates. I'll make sure you understand it, and that you can prove it on every page you deliver."

FAQ

Before You Enroll

Do I need a medical background to take this course?+

No medical degree required, but comfort reading medical documents helps. Many of our students come from nursing, pharmacy, or lab sciences — but experienced translators without a clinical background also succeed, because we build terminology from first principles.

Does the course cover MOH, DHA and HAAD document standards?+

Yes. We walk through what each UAE health authority requires for translated consents, medical reports, licensing submissions and visa medical clearances — including formatting, terminology consistency and stamping.

Is this medical interpreting or medical translation?+

This course focuses on written medical translation — records, clinical trial docs, device IFUs, regulatory submissions. Live medical interpreting is covered separately in the Conference Interpreting course.

Will I learn to translate pharmaceutical package inserts?+

Yes — pharma inserts, SmPCs (Summary of Product Characteristics), patient information leaflets and ICH documents are covered with real redacted examples.

How does the AI productivity module help in medical work?+

You learn to build a medical termbase using AI, run first-pass translation with quality filters, and verify drug names / dosages against official databases (MOH-UAE, EMA, FDA) — all while respecting patient confidentiality rules.

Can I pay in installments?+

Yes — 50% on enrollment, 50% before session 3 (5-session track) or session 5 (10-session track). WhatsApp us to arrange.
