Certified Legal Translation in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi (2026)
The Short Answer
If you are in Khalifa City (Khalifa City A and B) or the neighbouring communities of Shakhbout City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shamkha, Mussafah and Masdar City, you can order a certified legal translation without driving into central Abu Dhabi. Send a clear scan or photo on WhatsApp, receive a fixed quote, and get the translation signed and stamped by an MOJ-licensed translator as a PDF. When an authority needs paper, the stamped hard copy is delivered to you or ready to collect.
Smart World Legal Translation (SWLT) is based on Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi (Office 3103, Tamouh Tower, Marina Square). We do not have an office in Khalifa City; we serve it online. Prices start from AED 80 per 200-word page (excl. 5% VAT).
What Khalifa City Residents and Companies Translate Most
Khalifa City is one of Abu Dhabi’s largest family villa districts, close to Zayed International Airport, Al Raha Beach and Yas Island, with schools, universities and the industrial and business areas of Mussafah next door. That shapes the documents we translate most often:
- Family and residence files: birth and marriage certificates, divorce decrees and police clearances for family visas. See why visa translations get rejected.
- School and university files: transcripts, transfer certificates and degrees for school enrolment and equivalency. See the UAE degree recognition guide.
- Driving licences: foreign licences for conversion at Abu Dhabi Police. See driving licence translation in Abu Dhabi.
- Medical reports: reports and invoices for insurance claims and treatment abroad. See medical report translation for insurance.
- Companies in Mussafah and ICAD: contracts, board resolutions, powers of attorney and technical manuals. See technical translation in KEZAD and ICAD.
- Court files: claims, memoranda and evidence for the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. See court document translation in Abu Dhabi.
How It Works
1. Send the document
Photograph or scan every page, including stamps and the back of certificates, and send it on WhatsApp or by email. Tell us which authority will receive it: court, notary, school, police, bank or embassy.
2. Get a fixed quote
We confirm the price, language pair and delivery time before we start.
3. Certified translation
An MOJ-licensed translator translates the document, checks names and dates against your passport and Emirates ID, then signs and stamps the translation.
4. PDF first, paper if needed
You receive the PDF for online submissions. Stamped hard copies can be delivered to Khalifa City or collected from our Al Reem Island office. See PDF vs stamped hard copy.
Which Authority Needs What
| Document | Typical receiving authority | What to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Birth or marriage certificate | ICP (family visa), hospitals, schools | Attest abroad and at MOFA first, then certified Arabic translation |
| School transcripts and degrees | Schools, universities, equivalency | Full transcript with grading scale; names as in the passport |
| Foreign driving licence | Abu Dhabi Police | Both sides of the licence; check whether your country needs a translation |
| Commercial contracts and POAs | Notary, Abu Dhabi DED, banks | All annexes; signatory names and titles exactly as in the licence |
| Court claims and evidence | Abu Dhabi Judicial Department | Certified Arabic translation of every non-Arabic document relied on |
Getting It Right the First Time
Most delays come from three avoidable problems:
- Translating before attestation. A foreign document must carry its home-country and UAE embassy stamps, and usually the MOFA stamp, before translation, so that the stamps appear in the translation.
- Name spellings that differ between the passport, Emirates ID and the document. We follow the passport spelling throughout. See name spelling mismatches.
- Missing pages. Translate the whole document, including the back of certificates and contract schedules, or the authority may send it back.
